Author Responsibilities
Ethical obligations for all submitting authors
- Submit only original, unpublished work
- Properly cite and reference all sources
- Do not submit the same manuscript to multiple venues simultaneously
- Clearly indicate any text, figures, or data from other sources
- Obtain permission for reusing copyrighted material
- All listed authors made substantial contributions
- Everyone who contributed significantly is included as author
- All authors have reviewed and approved the final version
- Corresponding author represents all co-authors
- Conflicts between authors are resolved before submission
- Report data accurately without fabrication or falsification
- Provide sufficient methodological detail for reproducibility
- Make data and code available when possible (or explain why not)
- Acknowledge and explain any limitations or uncertainties
- Correct errors in published work promptly
- Declare all funding sources and financial support
- Disclose any commercial interests or affiliations
- Identify potential conflicts of interest
- Acknowledge all contributions (technical support, data, etc.)
- Follow institutional and funding agency policies
- Respond promptly to reviewer comments and queries
- Provide requested revisions in a timely manner
- Address all reviewer concerns substantively

Reviewer Responsibilities
Ethical standards for peer reviewers
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and protect them from unauthorized use or disclosure.
- Do not share manuscripts with others without permission
- Do not use ideas or data from reviewed papers
- Destroy or securely delete manuscripts after review
- Do not discuss reviews publicly
Reviews must be conducted objectively, with constructive and evidence-based feedback.
- Evaluate based on merit, not personal opinions
- Provide specific, actionable feedback
- Avoid personal criticism of authors
- Support judgments with clear reasoning
Reviewers must declare any conflicts and decline to review when appropriate.
- Decline if you have collaborated with authors recently
- Declare financial or personal relationships
- Avoid reviewing competitors' work if biased
- Notify editors of any potential conflicts
Reviewers should conduct themselves professionally and complete reviews in a timely manner.
- Complete reviews by the agreed deadline
- Notify editors if unable to review
- Provide respectful, constructive criticism
- Identify suspected ethical violations
Handling Research Misconduct
Fabrication
Making up data, results, or entire research projects
Falsification
Manipulating research processes or changing/omitting data
Plagiarism
Using others' work, ideas, or words without proper attribution
Identify the Concern
Document specific issues with evidence. Note page numbers, sections, or specific content that violates ethical standards.
Report to Organizers
Contact the conference ethics committee confidentially at ethics@conference.org with detailed information about the concern.
Investigation
The ethics committee will review the report, gather additional information, and may contact relevant parties for clarification.
Resolution
Based on findings, appropriate actions will be taken, which may include rejection, retraction, or referral to institutions.
As an FIRA conference, we adhere to the FIRA Code of Ethics, which commits members to the highest ethical and professional conduct. Key principles include:
Accept responsibility in making decisions consistent with the safety, health, and welfare of the public
Avoid real or perceived conflicts of interest whenever possible
Be honest and realistic in stating claims or estimates based on available data
Reject bribery in all its forms
Improve the understanding of technology, its appropriate application, and potential consequences
Maintain and improve technical competence
Seek, accept, and offer honest criticism of technical work
Treat fairly all persons regardless of factors such as race, religion, gender, disability, age, or national origin
Avoid injuring others, their property, reputation, or employment by false or malicious action
Assist colleagues and co-workers in their professional development
